| New Predicament For Danny In Upcoming 'NY' Episode | |
| In the latest issue of TV Guide, actor Carmine Giovinazzo (Danny Messer) talked about an upcoming episode of New York that will put his character in an intense plight.
The episode, entitled "Run Silent, Run Deep," is a continuation from last year's "Tanglewood," in which the writers implied Messer may or may not have been involved in one of New York's most dangerous gangs. This new episode may finally provide fans with some concrete answers.
In "Run Silent, Run Deep," a body is found buried in a football stadium and the evidence places Messer at the scene. For Mac to solve this case, the show will have to delve deep into Danny's past. "The storyline is going to be what Danny went through before he was a cop," revealed Giovinazzo. "It's going to put me in a real predicament and be real intense."
It's hardly surprising to hear of Danny being involved in any sort of predicament. The character has become the show's emotional whirlwind, his hard temper barely tamable even under his boss's recalcitrant sovereignty. "Danny is the Sonny Corleone of the show," CSI creator Anthony Zuiker said. "He's always in trouble, has a bad temper and can't shake his past."
This new episode of New York will surely provide some answers for the fans, but don't expect Danny Messer to soften up. "I don't think Danny will settle down," added Giovinazzo. "He'll be in more troublesome situations, on the edge of being fired. We're not going to sew up this guy in a nice package."

The team works to discover if the motive was money, given the curator's wealth, or if the witness has something to do with it when the CSIs find he has ties to the victim. Meanwhile, Danny and Det. Flack are called to a construction site where a man is found dead with a mouth full of foam sealant, which leads them to an extreme golf association with members who play in the streets of the city's five boroughs.

| ANNA BELKNAP TALKS ABOUT WORKING WITH CARMINE | |
| CSI Files did an interview with Anna Belknap recently & had
this to say about working with Carmine: "I think from the very beginning Danny and I have this really great [dynamic]. It's funny because Carmine and I have it in a way too because Carmine's pretty cool and I'm so square, and he'll laugh at things I say even when I'm in my dressing room, like I sound like a little country bumpkin. So I think it just translated really fast and early onto the screen. And plus they gave him that great trick to play on me right off the bat [in "Zoo York", which just gets stuff going. In that same episode [when] we were working in the lab together, the director [Norberto Barba] suggested, "Why don't you kind of bump into each other?" And that wound up being this really great unspoken moment. Carmine is just great to work with and he's really good and I feel like he really knows his character, and it's really specific and he's really free, so he's easy to play with and it's fun. And then the writers keep writing little scenes for us to do. For us, those are so much fun and give us a little break from exposition or lab work. I think [it's] that teasing thing you do when you're not sure if you like someone or you don't like them. There's something going on."
"We don't hang out. Carmine and I live near each other so I've bumped into him in a café, and Hill I see occasionally. If Gary's band is playing we'll all try to go. They played on the lot at Christmastime which was awesome. But no, we don't really hang out too much.
The four of us--Eddie, Carmine, Hill and I--all are in this little bungalow [which houses the dressing rooms], which is fun. It's like college. Eddie, Carmine and I were playing a lot [of guitar] for a while. And Carmine and I would sing our scenes, we'd sing the lines of the scenes, which is actually a good exercise. It frees you up a bit."

Carmine Giovinazzo's 'NY' Role Brings Him Full Circle (TONY DANZA RECAP) credit to:
Carolina @ CSI Files
Carmine Giovinazzo (Danny Messer) comes from a family of cops, but the actor never thought he'd get to wear a badge... until his role on CSI: New York.
"My father was a cop years and years ago. My sister's a cop, 15 years. My brother in law is one, worked for the mayor for a little bit, intelligence and all that," he told Tony Danza on the Tony Danza Show. "I think they always used to say that I'd be the hairdresser and she'd be the cop or something like that. But yeah, it's ironic that I'm playing the cop now."
Unlike most native New Yorkers, who dislike Los Angeles for its alienating feel, Giovinazzo has fallen in love with the city. "I love it. I love it because it's completely the opposite of New York. I like the change, I like the difference, I like the living by the mountains and by the beach and all that. Yeah, I dig it."
Although CSI: New York has been on the air a year and a half, Giovinazzo can still walk the streets without being chased around by the fans. "I'm still pretty incognito," he said. "And you know, people look at me a little funny and I kinda look back at them and forget that maybe they're looking at me because I'm on a show and I kinda get pissed off and I'm like, 'What are you looking at?'"

| There's a bit of confusion on when Carmine will be on
Tony Danza. According to the
website, he is scheduled for Wednesday, December 21; but according to my DVR guide,
he's going to be on Thursday, December 22. I don't know which to go by, so if you
are planning to catch the show, your best bet is to watch (or record) both days, so
that you won't miss him.
